FUNERALS AT THE CATHEDRAL
Our parish community is here to support you and offer guidance through the various funeral ceremonies, including the wake (visitation), funeral Mass, and burial for your loved one.
If your loved one has passed, please contact the parish as soon as you can at 605-342-0507.

Our staff will be contacted by the funeral home you've chosen and work with your family to coordinate the funeral elements, including the celebrant, music, and liturgy guidance. For further information on making advanced arrangements for yourself or a loved one, please contact the parish office at 605-342-0507.

FUNERAL PLANNING RESOURCES
When meeting with the priest or Cathedral staff member, your family will be assisted in planning the liturgy. We encourage you to review the following scripture passages and music and decide what you would like to include in the liturgy. Sometimes, families prefer that the priest and liturgy director make the selections; we are happy to assist if that is your preference.

"...AND NUMBER THEM AMONG YOUR SAINTS FOR EVERMORE."
Be assured that our prayers, hearts, and thoughts remain with your family during this time. We are here to serve you and your loved ones as you navigate these new waters.
Dearest Jesus,
who wept at the death of your friend
and taught that they who mourn shall be comforted,
grant us the comfort of your presence in our loss.
Send Your Holy Spirit to direct us
lest we make hasty or foolish decisions.
Send Your Spirit to give us courage
lest through fear we recoil from living.
Send Your Spirit to bring us your peace
lest bitterness, false guilt, or regret take root in our hearts.
The Lord has given.
The Lord has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Amen.
