MERCY NIGHT AND ENCOUNTER
MERCY NIGHT AND ENCOUNTER
WHAT ARE MERCY NIGHT AND ENCOUNTER?

Jesus invites all of us to have a personal relationship with him. Mercy Night and Encounter are about entering into this relationship through real, authentic experiences and recognizing his presence in our lives and in others.
Just as the woman at the well accepted herself because of her encounter with Jesus (John 4), we will also find the same love, mercy and acceptance from a relationship with Jesus.
MERCY NIGHT

Step through the doors of Cathedral of our Lady of Perpetual Help on Mercy Night and
find a chance to encounter Jesus in quiet prayer, song and the sacrament of confession.
Musicians will perform a range of sacred songs, from traditional hymns to Taizé prayer. Prayer teams are available to pray over you and priests are ready to hear confession. The church lights are dimmed, the spotlight is placed on a monstrance for adoration. If you're inclined, light a candle for your intentions or write your petitions on a piece of paper.
Rest in the heart of God’s mercy and experience his peace.
Stay five minutes or for the full 2 hours as the Holy Spirit leads you while you experience God’s mercy. All are welcome, regardless of denomination.
The Cathedral hosts Mercy Nights semi-annually, usually in Lent and Advent, so that it can be an opportunity to prepare for our highest liturgical feasts.
