ABOUT OUR COUNCIL
Knights of Columbus are Catholic gentlemen who value our belief in the Roman Catholic Church, promoting our Catholic ideals through our example in the works of charity and support of our parishes, priests and families.
The Cathedral's Knights of Columbus Council 1489 is a member of the national Knights of Columbus organization. Our Knights council supports the Cathedral parish community in Rapid City, SD, its families and religious orders by volunteering in support of parish activities and hosting a variety of social events and fundraisers. Below is a video celebrating our annual Thanksgiving Dinner event benefiting those marginalized residents in our community.
WHO ARE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS?
The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 2 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.

Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life.
Our Knights Council meets at the Cathedral in the Knights of Columbus Hall located in All Saints Hall (formerly the Cathedral basement). We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30PM for a family social and dinner followed by our 7:30PM regular meeting.

HOW TO JOIN
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church.
