Deacons

Dcn. Raul Daniel - Permanent Deacon
rdaniel@rushmore.com
1. When did you start employment at Cathedral OLPH? I was ordained as a deacon at Cathedral in August, 2004.
2. Would you please describe your job (in a nutshell). I serve as a deacon at Mass on weekends & some Holy Days, & I am available for baptisms, marriages, wakes, funerals, quinceañeras.
3. What might surprise your friends or colleagues to learn about your job? They would be surprised at how much time I put in to preparing a homily & that ministering to our men & women in uniform & their families is also real-live deacon work that they will likely never see. But I know I make a difference because I continue to get emails, calls, & texts related to ministry from Air Force people that have moved away.
4. What is the best part about working at Cathedral? I enjoy serving with many of our generous volunteer ministers.
5. What do you do when you aren't working? When I'm not at Cathedral I'm working on base. When I'm not at the base I'm ready as much as I can about the Faith. So much to learn, so little time!
