A Return to Holy Mass… together!
On Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, our parish family will begin a limited return to celebrating holy Mass with a congregation at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help! We still need to act with prudence under the current Coronavirus conditions, but with the approval of civil and ecclesial authorities, we will begin to join together for the celebration of Mass and the reception of Holy Communion! Praised be Jesus Christ! Alleluia!
While the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains dispensed, starting May 16 parishioners will be able to attend weekend and daily Masses, where we may receive Holy Communion at the following times:
Sunday 10:30am (also Live Streamed)
Sunday 7:30pm (Hosted by Newman Center)
Monday-Friday 7:00am (also Live Streamed)
Monday-Friday 12:00pm (Hosted by Newman Center)
Saturday 8:00am (also Live Streamed)
Only a limited number of parishioners will be able to access the Cathedral church at any one time. Parishioners wishing to attend one of these Masses should reserve a ticket by going to our website (www.cathedralolph.org) or calling the parish office 342-0507. Tickets will become available for reservation on Monday morning for the coming week. There will be limited number of tickets per Mass and once a Mass has reached its capacity then no more tickets will be available. Over the course of a week, we anticipate that all parishioners would have the opportunity to participate in at least one Mass (either daily, Saturday, or Sunday Mass). Please be patient as we seek to restore our celebration of Mass.
Parishioners who are unable to attend any of the Masses because of their health or age should make a perfect contrition and a spiritual communion. They are encouraged to “attend” Mass by means of the television of by means of the internet.
For the protection of your health and the health of others, certain precautions are being taken:
Total attendance at Mass will be limited according to civil and ecclesial guidelines.
To judiciously control the number of parishioners at each Mass (Daily Masses, Saturday Masses, and Sunday Mases) free tickets will be available online (www.cathedralolph.org) or by calling the Parish Office at 342-0507.
Only parishioners with tickets will be admitted to Mass. One ticket will be issued per household.
Parishioners are asked to obtain tickets for Mass once per week. Please be charitable and allow your fellow parishioners to have access to Masses at our Cathedral.
CDC Guidelines for social distancing — 6 feet — are always to be followed while on Cathedral grounds: prior to Mass, during Mass, and after Mass.
Hand sanitizers will be available at all entrances to the Cathedral. Please continue to practice good hygiene prior to Mass and after Mass.
Parishioners are encouraged to wear masks.
All parishioners who are in the “at risk” or “vulnerable” categories should remain at home.
All parishioners who have flu-like symptoms or have a temperature, cough, or any aches or pains should remain at home.
Please go to our parish website (www.CathedralOLPH.org) for more details or call our Parish Office (342-0507).
We are excited about this return to Mass to Holy Communion. Let’s be safe and prudent as we renew our sacramental life in Christ!
